Computer maker Acer is expected to make its debut in the phablet segment in the not too distant future, the latest reports on the matter claim.

Apparently, the company is already working on the release of a Liquid S handset that will sport a screen of at least 4.7 inches.

Some of the hearsay suggests that the device might sport a screen of 5 – 5.5 inches, and that it would be powered by a quad-core processor.

Depending on the market segment it will be targeted at, the Liquid S might feature either a Snapdragon or a Tegra 4 chip, or a MediaTek MT6589, usually found in cheaper phablets. The phone might be powered by Android.

No specific info on the device has emerged as of now, and it might take a while before the phablet is officially unveiled, but keep an eye on this space for more on the matter.
