Mobile phone carrier AT&T has confirmed plans to make the Ice Cream Sandwich OS upgrade available its latest Android devices, the HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

Both smartphones were announced several days ago with support for the wireless carrier's LTE network, and are expected to become available for purchase at the operator in the near future.

“We plan for both the Vivid and Galaxy S II Skyrocket to be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich,” the wireless carrier announced.

For the time being, no specific release date for this OS upgraded emerged, but the guys over at TechnoBuffalo say that early 2012 should be the lucky time frame for enthusiasts.

Both these handsets are great devices, and they will certainly prove even more appealing when the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS will be loaded on them.
