Steve Jobs, co-founder of Cupertino-based giant Apple, has passed away. He was 56.

Both users and technology partners were profoundly saddened by his death, and United States-based wireless carrier AT&T, a long-time Apple partner, is one of the companies who already released a statement on the matter:

We are saddened by the passing of Steve Jobs. Steve was an iconic inventor, visionary, and entrepreneur, and we had the privilege to know him as partner and friend. All of us at AT&T offer our thoughts and prayers to Steve's wife, family, and his Apple family.

AT&T was the first operator in the US to distribute the highly popular iPhone device. The company had exclusivity on this handset for about three years, and was also the first wireless carrier in the country to offer the Apple iPad.
