Available free of contract, the handset runs Gingerbread

Yesterday, wireless carrier AT&T went official with a new GoPhone plan for its customers, set to become available on October 7th, while also unveiling a new handset for them, the AT&T Fusion 2.

The new device is already available for purchase on the wireless carrier’s website, with a price tag of $99 attached to it, contract-free.

The smartphone packs a 3.5-inch 320×480 touchscreen display, along with a dual-core 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. On the back, the phone sports a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper.

The specs list of this phone also includes 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity options, along with built-in GPS receiver and a 1,400 mAh battery. The smartphone is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
