AT&T has silently launched a new messaging phone aimed at customers who crave for simplicity, the LG Xpression.

The handset is now available for purchase for as low as $49.99 USD with a new two-year agreement and after a $50 USD mail-in rebate. Customers who do not wish to commit to long-term contracts can get the LG Xpression for $219.99 USD upfront.

As expected from a messaging phone, the LG Xpression does not offer any outstanding features, instead promises to greatly improve users’ texting experience.

In this regard, the phone comes with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, which is complemented by LG’s Instant Note UI that allows users quickly to take notes, write messages and stay in touch with their friends and family via Facebook and Twitter.

Other highlights of the slider include 2-megapixel rear camera, 3-inch WQVGA (400 x 240 pixels) capacitive touchscreen, 50MB internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
