Galaxy S III is the most popular Android smartphone, with 15.1% market share

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has been long dominating the Android market, and its reach appears to be expanding.

According to a recent report coming from localytics, the handset vendor is accounting for 63 percent of all Android-based devices out there, including smartphones, phablets, and tablets.

When it comes to smartphones, the company’s share increases even more, as 8 out of the 10 most popular Android handsets are Samsung devices.

At the moment, Samsung Galaxy S III is said to enjoy the most market share in the Android phones segment, namely 15.1 percent, with Galaxy S4 coming in second as it accounts for 7.4 percent share. Galaxy S II is placed third, with a share of 5.2 percent.

The only non-Samsung handsets in top 10 Android smartphones are HTC One and Motorola DROID RAZR, with 1.3 and 1.1 percent market share, respectively.
