Photographers and Android fans alike will be happy to know one of their favorite Android applications, 500px, has just been updated with important new features.

With the latest version of 500px, users will be able to take advantage of the newly integrated push notifications system. This way users will receive updates every time someone follows them, leaves a comment or likes their photos.

Keep in mind that you will need to log out first in order for push notifications to work. According to devs, this is required to automatically register an account with Google’s push notifications services.

Aside from bringing push notifications to users, 500px developers added the option to reply to comments, as well as lots of bug fixes and improvements which have yet to be detailed.

500px 1.6.1 is now available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 and up. Check it out here.
