Futuremark has just announced that its 3DMark benchmarking application for Android devices has been updated with new features and a plethora of improvements meant to bring the software on more smartphones.

First and foremost, developers have confirmed that they have added a new feature that allows 3DMark users to let others know how much they love their device with the Recommend My Device option.

Furthermore, the latest version of 3DMark supports the ability to install and uninstall benchmark tests from within the app. The UI rendering performance has been improved as well.

Some compatibility enhancements have been included in the update as well, so the application now requires Android 4.0.0 or higher. Developers have also confirmed that they have fixed an issue affecting Sony Xperia SP and Samsung Galaxy S III models and made the application more reliable on devices with less than the recommended 1 GB of memory.

You can now download 3DMark for Android 1.3.1309 for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
