The developer warns you from the very beginning to use this mobile solution responsibly because intruding into foreign networks without permission is illegal. Try it on your current WLAN to discover if there are any security issues and fix problems before being spotted by malicious people.
The app uses the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) protocol to check if your wireless connection is vulnerable, a feature that simplifies the process of configuring a Wi-Fi router but which is insecure and makes the network easier to crack. The WPS protocol enables users to connect to a Wi-Fi network with an 8-digit PIN code that is relatively easy to guess because many routers let them try new combinations over and over again.
WPSApp helps you find out if unknown people can identify the PIN code and connect to your wireless network without permission. If detecting this problem, you should disable WPS or the PIN-based authentication method to prevent any security weakness.
Furthermore, the software also identifies all the devices connected to your WLAN at this moment revealing their IPs and MAC addresses and evaluates channel quality.
