Google Go is a slimmed down version of the full Google app that has a smaller footprint and is preinstalled on Android Go devices.
Not all phones are designed with the latest hardware in mind, especially the cheaper ones. But just because a phone had different hardware, it doesn’t mean that users shouldn’t make full use of them. This is where the Google Go app comes into play, allow users to get access to Google services.
The app itself is really small, with less than 5Mb of occupied space. But the main feature is the data savings option that let users load a lighter version of websites, and thus save traffic for the data plan. It also consumes less RAM memory, which is always good to have.
