Intuitive but dated UI that could use an upgrade
Although, a tutorial adds up to the app's overall size it is very useful for new users as it's filled with all sort of instructions and tips that would help them understand how the app works and access its features instantly. But VideoFX Music Video Maker doesn't have any tips which is quite inconvenient.
It also lacks a menu as it launches directly with the camera mode ready to record. There's a settings menu but no customization options for the app. In addition, the app only works in landscape mode when using the back camera and portrait when the front camera is enabled.
Record videos easily
The first thing that you need to do is to pick one of the many effects available. You can record black and white videos, or pick one of the free ones Film, Ghost, Cartoon, Cinematic, Stroboscope, Thermal, Mirror, Neon and others.
The app has in total 50 effects but not all of them are free and you'll need to pay 1.79$ to unlock 25 effects and remove the watermark. Pay the same amount to create animated videos or 0.89$ to remove watermark from the screen and videos.
Some settings and flaws
There's a zoom button on the recording screen, together with a timer and the settings icon. You can pick video resolution, but don't expect much the maximum resolution is 800x480.
Numerous focus modes are available, together with the option to pick the output folder and to flip videos. However, some devices won't allow for videos to be saved on the SD card. Users can also import audio files from their phones and have them play a soundtrack to the video.
When you're done recording, preview the video inside the app, save it and share with friends on social networks. All in all, the app has all the features that you might want from a video recorder, but video quality is low and the effects aren't all that great.
