Task Killer (Manager) 1.1.1
Fortunately, Google Play Store is filled with all sort of task killers that you can choose from. One of them is Task Killer (Manager). It's a neat app but it does have some flaws, so don't expect much from it.
Simplistic UI that could use an upgrade
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient considering that tips are very useful when launching a new app. Still, the UI is quite fresh and clean, it doesn't have lots of icons that overcrowd the screen.
There's a toolbar at the top of the screen, it comes with the option to search for all sort of applications. You can also adjust the view and pick from grid or list. Other than that, there's a refresh icon on the top of the screen and you can find some settings under the overflow icon.
Kill tasks that take up too many resources
The whole screen is filled with a list of applications that run in the background. However, it seems that it doesn't work properly on all devices and on some phones it might only display the app and not others installed on your phone.
This is quite inconvenient, because it means that the task killer might actually be useless on some devices. Still, it has a bar in the notification screen which shows you how much battery you've got left and it lets you open the app faster.
More tools
Users can create an ignore list and add applications that they would like to keep running. This is especially useful, since killed apps won't display notifications for a while, until they restart automatically.
You can have the app start when you boot your phone, display notifications or enable the auto kill feature. It also has a feature that kills applications even when you're phone is locked. The startup kill tool comes with a feature that lets you adjust the auto kill delay to how many minutes you'd like.
All in all, the app is nice but it doesn't work on all devices and it surely isn't the best task killer that we've seen. Other similar apps come with animation, a nicer UI and lots of unique features that really makes them stand out from the crowd.

Bottom Line
Design / UI6
The interface is quite simplistic, the app only has a few features and there's no option to change the theme. |
Function6
It doesn't work on certain devices and it lacks features that would make the app stand out from the crowd. |
Security9
It doesn't need that many permissions from your phone, the app shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery3
The app is supposed to save battery on your phone, but it takes up more resources than all apps combined. |
Price7
It doesn't come with any in-app purchases, but it has really annoying banner ads. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 2.3.3 or later, making the app available to many users. |
It needs a lot more work before it can compete against the top task killers on the market.
