There are times when you need to record a video and although the default Google camera app does a good job, there are other similar apps that you can find in the market.

One of such applications is Secret Video Recorder. It's called secret, because it lets you make background recordings while performing other functions on your phone. However, you should always inform people that you're recording them especially if you wish to share the video afterward.

Intuitive GUI with all sort of features

The application doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, but you wouldn't really need them since the UI is quite intuitive and sports a nice layout. However, you can find some general tips in the help section.

It also lacks material design, all of its features and settings are hidden under the overflow icon which represents the menu. The home screen is quite simplistic with just two sections arranged in tabs. There are no customization options, but the interface looks quite nice.

Record videos easily

All you need to do in order to record videos with sound is to tap on the icon in the home section. A toolbar will be displayed in the notification area, so you would know that the app is recording.

You can make an unlimited number of videos with unlimited video duration. The only restriction is the storage limit on your device. You can use whichever camera you wish on your device to record videos and sound.

In addition, users can perform all sort of functions on their devices while recording. It's a nice way to record videos in secret, but you should always tell other people that you've recorded them especially if you wish to keep the video. All videos are recorded in mp4 format.

More features

But the app doesn't come with just the recording feature, you can also make lots of settings. There's the option to schedule recordings, pick the start date and time as well as the end ones.

There's also the option to switch between cameras, adjust video quality, video orientation, pick the output folder, mute shutter sound, zoom, enable night vision and more. Users can also enable flashlight or lock the app with a pin.

Secret Video Recorder doesn't come with a video player, so you'll have to use another app on your device in order to view videos. In addition, sound quality is a bit poor so don't expect it to record all background noises in high quality.
