Portal 1.1.1

Transfer files easily from your computer to your phone with this neat app by Pushbullet
We live in the age of technology, when it's absolutely mandatory to stay connected all the time and to transfer information easily from one device to another.

Therefore, it's no wonder that Google Play Store offers users a whole array of applications that they could use in order to do just that. One of such apps is Portal by Pushbullet. It's a nifty file transferring app with lots of nice perks and features at hand.

Functional interface with a nice design

The app comes with a short tutorial and some instructions, but you wouldn't really need them since the UI is quite intuitive with lots of features at hand. It doesn't use material design, but the app was actually created for users who wish to transfer files fast without any fuss.

You'll need to have your phone connected to the same WiFi network as your computer in order to transfer files. It doesn't use mobile data, which is quite since it means that it won't cost you any money.

However, you can only transfer files from your computer to the phone and not the other way around. Subsequently, you can't make phone to phone transfers using Portal.

Transfer files easily

Simply launch the app and open portal.pushbullet.com on your computer to proceed. Scan the QR code with your phone in order to connect the two devices. Afterwards, you can simply drag files to the browser on your computer and they'll be transferred to your phone.

The transfers are done instantly, so you won't have to wait around for them. Adjust settings and have the app automatically save pictures in your gallery and music in your Android's Music folder.

More features

There's no transfer limit, although it will take a bit to transfer files of 1 GB compared to smaller ones. If your phone is running Android 5.0 or later and it has a removable SD card, you can have the app save files to that removable card.

After the files were transferred, you can open and share files from the Portal app. In addition, if you're using Chrome on your computer you can drop large folders and the app will transfer them quickly. It doesn't come with any ads or in-app purchases which is a big plus.

Editor's Review
VERY GOOD

It's a nice file transfer app but it needs the option to perform other types of transfers.
