One of such applications is Motion Detector Video Recorder. It records audio and video only when the phone detects movement. It can be set to automatically turn on when motion is detected, while the screen continues to stay blank. It works fine, but it does have some flaws.
Sleek interface with plenty of features at hand
The app doesn't come with a tutorial, although it would have been nice if it showed new users some tips on how to set it up and access all of its features. No material design but it does have a menu with access to all sort of settings and features that you can use.
There's also a help section, but you'll need to go on the developer's website in order to read all instructions. It doesn't come with any additional themes or ways in which you can customize the app.
Record videos easily
All you need to do in order to record a video is to place your device on a flat surface, position it as needed and activate the app. When activated, the screen will turn black and the phone will be set to mute.
Users mustn't lock the phone with the power key. It's best if you set the phone to airplane mode in order to prevent phone calls. You should also disable all alarms as these might cause the app to stop monitoring.
It will continue to monitor until you stop it, each time motion is detected, a video clip will be recorded and monitoring will resume. However, the app has some flaws and it only starts recording about 6 seconds after motion was detected.
More settings
You can make it start monitoring only when small or large motions were detected. Adjust volume to make sure the app records audio. You can get an email notification or text message whenever a video was recorded.
Video quality is set to high, 1920x1080 and you can set the video clip duration and pick the destination folder. Have the app stop recording when the battery is below 5% s to prevent your phone from shutting down.
Aside from the delay, the app also slows down your phone so you will have some trouble turning it on. In addition, it only records three videos in the free version and you'll need to pay 11.59$ in order to unlock features.
