The app launches with a very comprehensive tutorial, showing new users all the neat things that they can do with Microsoft Excel for Android. Next, you'll need to register or sign in your Microsoft account so the app can find and retrieve spreadsheets from your OneDrive account.
It has a side menu that gives users access to all sort of features and sections, together with a settings menu that lets you make some changes to the app's UI and functions. The home screen displays all documents saved on your device, together with options to create new documents.
Create all sort of spreadsheets
The app lets you create blank spreadsheets or create lists, track tasks, manage money, personal budget, calculate loans or organize all sort of activities. You can add how many sheets you like to documents and the app comes with lots of functions that you can choose from.
It lets you adjust text style, font, borders, fill color, merge cells, wrap text and more. Users can pick from multiple cell styles, number formats or insert and delete text. There's also a search bar for finding text easier inside the document. It comes with a reverse button for removing changes and returning to the original spreadsheet.
More features
When you're done editing, the app lets you save spreadsheets on your OneDrive or Dropbox accounts. You can also pick a folder inside the phone and save documents there. The side menu gives you the option to attach spreadsheets to an email and share them online.
You can also print documents if you wish and the app has some general settings that you can adjust. The app doesn't provide as many options as the desktop version, but it's quite useful for making small changes to spreadsheets or create new ones using templates.
