Internet Speed Test 2.5.1.0
In addition, you should always check internet connection on your phone to make sure there aren't applications that might take up too many resources and that the connection performs as expected.
One of the ways in which you can do so is by using Internet Speed Test. It's a really nifty application with lots of features but it could use some more work.
Intuitive interface with plenty of tools
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or a presentation of its features, but it does have some tips that new users would find quite beneficial. The interface doesn't use material design but it does have a menu with settings.
It also has few options but it does manage to do its job. The UI is quite dated and seems a bit crowded, it comes in blue colors which take away the whole focus from the app's purpose and its tools. It would be nice if the UI had a more fresh UI.
Check your internet connection
It comes with two themes, when you first launch the app you'll have to pick from the classical and modern theme. You have the option of later changing the theme from the settings menu. The app takes a while to analyze your network connection. It will display the name of your internet provider and the IP address.
It will also show you measurement parameters, like the download and upload speed and latency (ping). Users have the option to access the developer's website, ping-test.net and check the connection from there.
Some tips
The app provides users with some tips that they should read before performing a scan. You should turn off or temporarily block all applications using internet connection, find the nearest possible distance from your router and make sure that connection speed declared by your internet provider is fully guaranteed.
The app has a whole separate section in which it displays results of scans that you've performed. In addition, you can enable some features like vibration for when the app has finished the test, have it display animations and a warning about the transfer in mobile networks.
You can change the default unit that describes the test results, pick the default sort method for test results and the order method. There's also the option to change parameters for WiFi connections as to make sure that test results are as accurate as possible.
