Google Play Store comes with lots of applications that come in the aid of avid readers. Goodreads is one of them. It's one of the top apps for searching, reviewing and recommending good books to your friends. If reading is one of your passion, than you should try Goodreads.
Intuitive and beautiful interface
Goodreads doesn't come with a tutorial, but you wouldn't really need it since it has a really intuitive UI and a side menu for accessing all of its features. The first thing that you'll need to do when launching the app is to create an account.
The app lets you sign up with an email or your Facebook or Amazon accounts. It's better if you use Facebook since you can connect with your friends from there but you needn't worry since this step can be done later on. The app doesn't require lots of personal information from use
rs which is quite nice.
Get recommendations of all sort of books
The app's UI has a really nice layout, the pages resemble those of an actual book as they come in a nice beige color that's easy on the eyes. After registration, you'll need to pick the genres that you like from a long list of options.
You can pick from comedy, classics, biography, horror, science fiction and more. You'll also need to rate some books so the app can provide you with suggestions. If you haven't read any of the books presented in the list, simply skip them or add them to your wishlist.
Join groups and take on challenges
The app is filled with all sort of interesting features, one of them is the option to join groups or recommend titles to your friends. It also has a feature that lets you join challenges and increase the number of books you read per year.
Each title presented in the app comes with an extensive review and comments written by other users. You'll find some comments for any of the recommended books so you would know if it suits you.
The app also lets you scan barcodes of books, so you can check them out even on the go. Goodreads is simply a platform that's filled with all sort of reviews, but you won't be able to download books from there.
