Fortunately, there are many applications in the store that come with lots of interesting features to make sure you wake up refreshed and rested every morning. One of such applications is Glimmer.
Beautiful interface with plenty to offer
Glimmer doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient since it's always nice to see apps that have a presentation for new users. Still, the app launches directly with the home screen and it has some tips that you can check out.
It doesn't have material design or a settings menu, in fact the layout doesn't really resemble that of other apps. Instead, it has the same layout as your default Android alarm clock which is nice, since it means that you shouldn't have any trouble with accessing features or finding tools.
Set alarms on your phone
The whole concept behind this app is quite interesting. It's purpose is to make sure people wake up slowly. In that respect, it starts lighting up your phone's screen 30 minutes before the alarm goes up.
The brightness level increases gradually and by the time the alarm goes off, the flash will also be on. The sound is played gradually as well, as to make sure that you wake up slowly.
It addition, it displays a nice wallpaper in the background and you can check the time and date on your phone during the night without having to press the power button.
More features
It comes with multiple themes that you can choose from, but some of them aren't available without a donation to the developer. Each theme comes with its own wallpaper and sound, so you won't be able to make any customization changes to them.
You can only create as many alarms as you wish and pick the hour and days of the week in which you would like them to go off. It has two modes, one day and one night.
If you activate the latter, the app will shut down your internet connection, disable notification sound, lower the brightness and do much more. It lets you adjust the duration of the soft wake up, check your emails before you wake up, play a pre-alarm sound and display animation on your screen. That being said, it's best if you plug in your phone before going to bed so that Glimmer won't drain your resources.
