Wifi Analyzer 3.9.6

Improve your WiFi connectivity by selecting the least crowded channel for your wireless router
Many people nowadays use WiFi to connect to the internet. However, if there are many access points nearby, you are likely to experience connectivity issues. This usually happens when there are multiple WiFi networks operating on the same channel as yours, a channel being a range of radio frequencies used by a wireless router to communicate with other WiFi devices.

In this case, the bandwidth is shared by multiple devices, resulting in slower connection speeds. To overcome this issue, you need to configure your router to use the least crowded channel. Wifi Analyzer is a handy tool that will help you in this respect.

User-friendly interface packed with many features

Wifi Analyzer sports a user-friendly interface that looks good on both smartphones and tablets. You can quickly cycle through the different visualization modes by swiping left or right, or you can directly select the one you want from the eye icon at the top. The app provides a variety of graphs which are clear and easy to read.

All you need to test WiFi connection

The easiest way to identify the least crowded channel is to go to the channel rating visualization mode. After selecting your router from the list, the app will suggest which channels may improve your connectivity. Selecting the highest rated channel for your router should give you the best results.

For the more technically inclined, the app also offers other visualization modes. Perhaps the most useful one is the channel graph. Here you can see the strength of the signal for each access point and the channels they use. This view makes it easy to discover if your channel is also used by other access points.

Visualization mode and access points

Another graph provided by the app shows the signal strength over time. This visualization mode is especially useful for checking whether you have been experiencing connection drops. And, if you want to view the signal strength in real-time, there is also a mode that displays it on an analog meter.

Wifi Analyzer also includes a mode that shows a list of all the nearby access points. For each access point, you can view the channel, frequency band, security protocol, MAC address and other useful data. The information can be copied to the clipboard and pasted into other apps.
