Intuitive design that's easy on the eyes
You wouldn't want too much fuss from a reader app and Wattpad keeps things simple with a fluent interface and neat tools, well structured under the 'hamburger' icon on the left side of the screen. The orange toolbar gives it a fresh look, topped with a gray colored menu. There aren't many changes that you can make to the UI, but you wouldn't want to either as the app sports a sleek layout, enhancing your reading experience.
Browse through millions of stories and books
Even if you're not an avid reader, Wattpad will convince you to check out at least a book or two. Online registration is required for keeping a library of books and commenting on them. Upon launching, the app needs users to select some of the trending stories to get them started and to provide suggestions further on.
After you've created a library of a few titles, you can head over to the discover section and search for more. They're all divided into categories ranging from classics, like Pride and Prejudice and Alice in Wonderland, to books on vampires and werewolves, but you can also find light literature on humor and teen fiction. Books also come in a variety of languages that you can choose from.
Add books to your library and achieve them
Wattpad works well even offline, you can continue reading any book from your library even when on the subway or bus, without wasting precious mobile data. The news feed section contains recommendations from editors of the app and comments posted by other users.
There's the option of commenting or voting on each chapter of a novel, together with sharing it with friends. The platform allows you to upload your own content and promote it, while books can only be archived after they were completed and no new chapters are scheduled for release.
