UCAM 1.2.1
Others only have a few but essential tools, to help you snap pictures and edit them fast without spending too much time inside the app. One of such editors is UCAM, a camera filled with filters and other tools to help you take pictures easily.
Sleek interface with plenty of features at hand
The application launches directly with the camera mode and with all tools on the screen. It doesn't have a tutorial with instructions or tips for new users to understand the app better and to take advantage of all of its features.
Still, it doesn't need online registration and surprisingly it doesn't have any sort of ads, which is quite nice since normally, photo editors are filled with banner ads or at least some popup ones. However, you'll notice that some of its features are locked and you'll have to unlock them by recommending the app to your friends on social networks.
Snap pictures easily and edit them inside the app
UCAM features lots of tools on the camera screen and it still manages to provide users with enough screen space so that it doesn't interfere with the space you have for displaying pictures.
A toolbar on the bottom of the screen gives you access to all of the app's main sections and some other tools are features at the top. You can access settings, shift camera modes or enable a timer to take a picture. Before you start using the app, you should adjust photo size and pick the maximum one that works on your device.
Apply filters and textures
The app comes with a whole gallery of filters that you can pick from, everything from retro, black and white to warm and deep effects. You can change aspect ratio directly from the camera mode and you can check out pictures in the separate gallery inside the app.
Users also have the option of importing images from their phone and edit them inside the app. You can apply filters and effects, together with textures, as the app has 18 kinds of linked templates and 128 filters to pick from. When you're done editing, you can save pictures to your phone and share them easily as the app has shortcuts for sharing on social networks.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is really nice with plenty of features at hand and enough space in the camera mode, but it is non-responsive at times. |
Function8
It has some stability issues and at times the message with share the app to your friends lags on the screen and there's no apparent way to remove it. |
Security7
It needs access to some areas of your phone that aren't connected to its features, so it might pose some privacy concerns. |
Battery7
Consumption is a bit high, especially if you're only using the camera mode but it shouldn't really drain your battery. |
Price8
It doesn't have ads but some features are locked and you can only get access if you share the app with friends. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It's really a nice camera app but it needs some more improvements and features.
