Soundtracker
Trouble with signing in
Soundtracker promises many cool features, but delivers almost nothing. Developers seem to have focused on designing a stylish and neat interface, but completely overlooked the tools that make this app work, like authentication methods.
The app requires users to sign in with their Facebook, Google+ or Twitter account, without providing them with an option to sign up with Soundtracker. During out testing, we managed to sign in with Google+ but the app didn't keep the account logged in and posted errors when trying to relog.
Create your own station and discover new songs, if you can sign in
Aside from this, the interface is well-designed, with many tools at hand, that is after you manage to sign in. The app comes with the option of creating your own station based on your favorite genre or artist. The stations come with a preset playlist and the option of favoring songs.
There's also a feed with suggestions of songs by Soundtracker, together with the option to freely browse for artists and songs. The app also comes with charts of songs, a section of favorite songs and an inbox section, with messages from friends and suggestions of songs.
Major privacy invader
The main feature is the app's system of recording what your friends listen to, together with their location and favorite stations. The app uses your location services to display a map with friends that are nearby you and songs that they're listening to.
Needless to say, the app collects basically all your personal information from your profile, together with data on your friends and even accesses your contacts list and there's no option of denying access to such data. In addition, if you allow it the app would send messages to your friends on Facebook and other networks.

Major privacy invader, the app collects every piece of personal information on the user and friends. It even accesses the phone's contact list, aside from other areas. |
Battery6
Battery drainer, as it plays music and needs constant access to the internet and location services. |
Price6
It comes with ads and in-app purchases, as the app is only available for free during a 14-day trial. |
Compatibility8
The developer didn't specify the Android versions required for this app. |
Invasive app that's just not worth the time.
