SPB TV 3.4.0
Sleek but dark interface
The app requires you to provide an email address, specify your gender and year of birth for the app to suggest channels, features and promos based on your user profile. Registering isn't mandatory and the app promises not to share your email address with any third parties.
It features a side menu on the left, with all sections that you should check out and even your subscriptions. You can find the search bar on the top of the screen, together with the option of adding channels and making some changes to the UI.
Watch various channels
SPB TV comes with 200 TV channels that you can check out. Select the main section from the menu and start browsing through channels featured in the row at the bottom of the screen. The app also presents the schedule for the day and upcoming shows. Tap on play to start watching, streaming doesn't take long to load but make sure streaming is done over WiFi and not mobile data, as charges may apply.
Streaming works well for many channels, but some only come with videos and no live streaming. You have the option of sharing videos with friends on social networks. There's also the option of having the app display videos over other applications running in the background so you can multitask on your phone.
Manage subscriptions
The app provides you with suggestions of channels to watch but many of them are in Russian. There are videos you can check out, all divided into categories including entertainment, sports and children's TV. You can also subscribe to some channels, for the price of 2.99$ per month.
Moreover, notifications can be set so you'll always be informed when new content is added and the app lets you choose a player based on your battery resources and system configuration. Still, the app displays ads at the start of each video and some of the most popular stations might not be available in all locations.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is intuitive but it makes it tiresome to shift through the row of channels to find the one you're looking for. |
Function8
The app works well but many channels are in Russian and some have trouble loading. |
Security7
It needs registration with an email address and it peaks into many areas of your phone, including accounts and your location. |
Battery7
Consumption is quite normal for such an app, keep a charger nearby if you intend to use the app extensively. |
Price8
It comes with ads and some in-app purchases, like 2.99$ for subscribing to a channel. |
Compatibility8
The developer didn't mention Android versions compatible with this app, but the better the device the higher the image quality. |
A neat app for watching various channels and subscribing to some.
