Pix: Pixel Mixer 1.2.10
Pix: Pixel Mixer is one of those apps that has the potential of doing so.
Simplistic but functional interface
The application doesn't come with instructions, but has plenty of tips to get you started and show you all the features it packs. The interface is simplistic and puts emphasis on functionality more than an appealing UI. Still, it's well structured with tools on the top and bottom of the screen in the editor section and only two options in the main screen, a shortcut to camera and access to your photo gallery.
Snap pictures or edit the ones from your gallery
The editor section features a bar with filters that you can add to pictures. There are 31 filters you can choose from, including sepia, sketch and cartoon. But you can only select up to 3 filters per picture. Still, the app does a good job at overlapping them the changes are made instantly.
For quick access users can add filters to their favorites to make them easier to find. Long press on the image to see the before picture. You can also add borders to your images, there are many to choose from but you can't adjust or change frames and there are no settings for borders.
Save and share pictures
The app also comes with the option of choosing random effects and filters to add to your images. You also have the option of reversing all changes done to the picture or sharing it with friends on social networks. When you're done editing, you can save the photo but you can't choose the format or resolution.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is almost non-existing, it only has shortcuts to the camera and gallery. The app comes with a few tips to get you started, but the editor is well structured. |
Function7
It's a neat app but it could use some more tools for borders and frames. In addition, there's no option of adjusting brightness, making this app good only for applying filters. |
Security9
It needs few permissions from your phone and they're all connected to its features. No need to worry about privacy with this app. |
Battery7
Consumption seems normal, but keep an eye on resources if you intend to use this app for extended periods of time. |
Price10
It's completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases whatsoever. |
Compatibility9
It should be compatible with devices running Android version 2.2 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
A nice app with some features, but not enough for photography enthusiasts.
