PVSTAR+ (YouTube Music Player) 2.5.11

YouTube is a great source of music and entertainment, but if you've ever gotten tired of its interface and want to have access to more such websites in one app, then try PVSTAR+. You can search for videos or import your playlists from YouTube and Dailymotion, play them on your phone and tablet and share the app.

Unappealing UI with some features

The app opens with a list of all its features, together with icons. The search bar is displayed at the top of the screen, together with player controls and a section with more information about the developer and the option of rating the app.

There's a banner ad at the bottom of the screen, but this app will keep you safe from ads at the beginning of videos on YouTube. The app comes with some instructions of use, but a tutorial would have been quite helpful.

Play music from YouTube or Dailymotion

There's a popular videos section, where you can scroll through trending songs and clips. In addition, you can set the famous platform as the default search engine and have the app delete your search history, so it wouldn't take up too much space on your phone. Video quality can be adjusted, so you'd save battery and the video wouldn't take long to load.

You can search through videos in certain categories, like the top artists or search for playlists. But even if you’ll like to listen to an entire playlist, you must select each video and then hit play, which is quite inconvenient. There's also the option of searching for certain channels on YouTube.

Manage your list of songs

Each video that you listen to can be added to your own playlist in the app. You can set your own wallpaper to the playlist. However, the app fails to sign in to accounts on YouTube, so you probably won't be able to import your playlist. Each song comes with details on the artist, an equalizer and a section with related videos. You also have the option of setting up a sleep timer.

There are many word misspellings in the app, which give it a cheap feel. Also the app has some stability issues and may crash at times. There's no lock screen feature and the home screen widget is quite useful but interrupts audio streaming when launching the app. Other than that, audio quality is the same as on YouTube and the app continues to play in the background.
