PCMark 1.3.3083
The developer Futuremark has been creating high quality benchmarking software since 1997. PCMark is their top software used on millions or devices around the world.
Sleek design with many features
PCMark for Android measures mobile device performance and battery life under real-world conditions using tests based on common, everyday tasks and activities.
The app is filled with all sort of instructions that you must follow if you wish the app to perform tests properly. The benchmarking interface is quite small of just 23 MB, but tests take up an additional 423 MB and must be installed after you first launch the app.
To get better results, you must close all background programs, clear out your recent apps list and allow your device to cool down before starting the test. With some devices you can adjust system settings that may increase your score.
Perform a work benchmark test
Work benchmark tests show you how your device handles the work tasks you carry out every day – browsing the web, watching videos, working with documents and editing photos.
Web browsing measures the time to render a web page, search for content and then re-render the page after editing and adding an item. Video playback measures the average frame rate during playback as well as the time to load, seek within using the native Android MediaPlayer API. It also measures the time to open, edit, cut, copy and paste text and images into a document.
Measure work battery life
It also measures the time taken to open, edit and save a set of 4 MB jpeg images while using four different APIs to filter and manipulate the images. You can also use PCMark for Android to discover the true battery life of your device under everyday working conditions.
The app will provide you with a performance score averaged from each loop of the test, but you must take into consideration that the test lasts for several hours during which your phone shouldn't post any notifications as they can interfere with the process. It also displays detailed information on your device and a general ranking of the best Android devices found on the market.

Bottom Line
Design / UI10
The interface is really nice, using lots of animation and showing users all maneuvers during tests. |
Function8
It truly a good app for benchmarking your phone, but the battery life test is quite sensitive and it may stop if your phone receives any notification. |
Security9
It doesn't need that many permissions from your phone and they're all connected to its features. |
Battery5
Tests take up a lot of resources, especially the battery life test which will surely leave your phone completely drained. |
Price10
It's completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases whatsoever. |
Compatibility8
The app is designed for benchmarking some of the best devices on the market, so it's no wonder that it needs Android version 4.1 or later to work. |
It's one of the best benchmarking apps we've ever come across.
