There are many travel apps on Google Play Store, some let you plan trips, others help you with suggestions of restaurants and places to visit once you've arrived to your destination. However, not many incorporate the two functions. Minube is a nifty app that does just that.
Plan your trip and share places you'd like to visit
Before you can start exploring the app and all its features, you'll need to sign in with an account. Use Google, Facebook or your email address to do so. The app will provide you instructions and tips of making the best of its tools.
There are some changes that you can make to the interface, namely change the language or manage your notifications. You'll need to import friends from social networks to view places that they've visited and lists of locations they'd like to see. Also, choose one of the two units of distance, either miles or kilometers.
Discover new places to see
The side menu is filled with all sections of the app, simply type in a destination and let the app take you there through HD pictures, maps and a list of hotel rooms that you can book. Tap on a location, read the description and share it with friends. Save the destination to a folder of your choice, visit the website or place a phone call.
If you're just browsing for places to visit, then tap on the icon in the top right corner of the screen and choose a category of destinations, either places to visit during a weekend, locations where you could find adventure, good food and plenty of relaxation. You can also filter destinations and make sure the app provides you with suggestions of family friendly or romantic places.
Get inspired and create moments
Minube also provides you with plenty of inspiration, filter destinations by distance from your current location and the duration of your trip. You can also choose a specific color, red is for Spanish villages and blue is for clear waters near idyllic beaches.
Other than that, you can choose a certain continent for your trip. Minube scans your media files and finds pictures that you can upload and share with friends. It has some trouble determining the location in photos, but still it's a great way of organizing those many pictures you've taken during multiple trips. The app also comes with a widget for your home screen and it's compatible with Android Wear.
