Manga Box 1.6.2

Read only the top manga series with this really nice application
Manga comics have become quite popular lately and there are many sources where you can find top content translated into various languages. Manga Box offers just that, it provides users with access to top manga series, all translated into English.

However, all episodes are timed and you can't actually skip and watch all seasons from the beginning. The app is nice to discovering new manga series in you have a few spare minutes.

Sleek interface with plenty of features at hand

The app doesn't come with a tutorial, although it would have been nice if it had a small presentation of the app and all the features that you can find inside. It comes with a settings menu, filled with all sort of adjustments that you can do to the interface.

The app is available in multiple languages like Japanese, English and Chinese. You can have the app automatically download certain episodes to your phone, as soon as they're posted inside the magazine. It also notifies you when new issues are available so you can open the app and start reading. You can also change the page turn in the reading mode.

Read all sort of manga series

The app launches with shortcuts to its top series on the home screen. You can also check out previous releases in the side menu on the left. You'll also find there an icon for checking out an introduction tutorial to the app, but that doesn't work.

Simply tap on an icon to open the series, but keep in mind that they're available only for a limited period of time. Swipe the screen left to turn the page, the app also displays the number of pages in an episode, together with quick access to other series and the option to adjust brightness of the screen.

Other features

The app also lets you skip to whichever episode you wish, but that depends on the series. In addition, you can share episodes with friends on social networks. Still, the app doesn't let you read an episode again and they all have limited availability.

This is quite inconvenient since you may wish to review an episode or access only certain seasons. Still, the app comes with a news section filled with the latest information from the world of manga. All in all, the app is quite nice but has limited use considering that access to episodes expires.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8

The interface is nice, with a side menu for accessing episodes and some settings that you can make to the UI.

Function7

Episodes are available for a limited time and you can't really read all the episodes that you may want.

Security8

It needs access to quite a few areas of your phone, but it really shouldn't pose any privacy issues.

Battery8

Consumption is normal, the app definitely won't drain your battery while you use it.

Price10

It's completely free of charge, but access to episodes is limited.

Compatibility8

The app should work on devices running Android version 4.0.3 or later, making it inaccessible to some users.

Editor's Review
VERY GOOD

You can read really nice manga series in English but you won't get access to previous episodes which makes it difficult to follow a story.
