Live365 Radio 2.7.07
Simplistic UI with few features
The first thought that comes to mind after launching the app is that it could use a facelift. The interface seems dated with fewer features compared to other similar apps. It is focused on simplicity but a modern look would attract more users, especially younger ones. Still, it comes in several color themes like light blue or purple, making it easy to customize the UI.
In addition, you can choose the start up page to open with the last played station or the section of your favorites. You can like/dislike or share stations on various social networks. The app may also be set to email you track information on songs played at a certain station.
Browse through various stations
There's a search bar that provides you with stations related to the genre or artist that you're looking for or you can tap on one of the genre icons displayed on the start up page. There's everything here from country/folk music to reggae or hip-hop/rap.
Each section comes with subgenres, tap on one and the app displays a long list of stations together with their number of followers. You can listen to stations created by professionals or amateurs from all over the world. The network also allows users to broadcast their own content, but only from the desktop version.
Favorite stations and broadcast yourself
The app offers you the possibility of favoriting stations that you like to find them faster. It also displays the last 15 played stations and provides you with recommendations based on your preferences. In addition to that you can set the streaming mode or adjust the connection quality, in case your internet connection isn't that strong.
There's also a sleep timer but no car mode, which is quite inconvenient considering that many people listen to the radio while they drive. Live365 Radio is a great platform for broadcasting your own radio station. The free version of this app comes with a 5 day VIP trial, which includes live broadcasting. After the trial ends, you will have to pay at least 59$ per month to continue using the service.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
Dated design that could really need an update with a more modern look in order to attract more users. |
Function8
It freezes and takes a while to load stations, lacks a car mode and many other features, still it's a popular streaming service for amateur radio stations. |
Security8
It needs online registration for some features and the app peaks into many areas of your phone, including location. |
Battery6
Keep a charger nearby or better yet keep your phone plugged in, as this app takes up quite a fair amount of power. |
Price8
It comes with plenty of ads, especially when shifting through radio stations, but they can be removed with a VIP subscription. |
Compatibility8
The developer didn't mention Android versions required for this app. |
A reliable but dated app for listening to the radio or broadcasting music on your own station.
