InstaMag 3.6.6
One of such apps is InstaMag, filled with all sort of filters that you can use together with the option of creating collages and posters.
Intuitive and lightweight interface
The app doesn't come with a tutorial, but instead it sports a nice interface with plenty of features at hand. Instructions and tips are given, although new users shouldn't have any trouble with navigating inside the app and accessing all of its features.
Still, the app lets you pick the destination folder but you can't change the image quality of output files or choose the file format. The app saves pictures in .jpg format and lets you pick the save path.
The interface is well structured, with all sections displayed on the home screen in thumbnails. It doesn't really have any ads, but it does have plenty of suggestions for downloading other apps by the same developer.
Create collages with pictures from your gallery
The app doesn't have a feature that would let users snap pictures but it sure has many tools for editing images from your gallery. The magazine section lets you pick up to 9 photos from your library and arrange them into templates.
There are many layouts that you can choose from, some with text while others with stickers. They're all arranged into categories based on their shape, like portrait, square, landscape or strips. The app comes with some of them pre-installed, while others need to be downloaded from the store for free.
Use manga and modern layouts or create slideshows with music
The app also comes with the option of using manga or modern style templates to create collages. You can only add up to 7 pictures per manga layout or 12 per modern templates.
There's also a store section for these layouts. Users can also check out the music book section with templates to create nice slideshows and add music to them. They have a really nice design and you can save them inside the app, in a separate section.
All in all, InstaMag is a nice and fun app but it has some shortcomings like the fact that the quality of output files is lower than that of the original picture.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The app sports a really nice layout but the filter selection bar should be larger to make it easier to pick filters. |
Function8
It works just fine but it could use some basic editing tools and the option to create collages without using templates. |
Security8
The app needs quite a few permissions from your phone, especially to location services although none of its features would actually need access to them. |
Battery6
Consumption is quite high, keep an eye on resources when using this app. |
Price8
It doesn't have any ads or in-app purchases, but it does advertise many applications created by the same developer. |
Compatibility8
It should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.3 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It's a nice app but it does need some more work.
