Google Finance 2.2.7

Manage your portfolio of shares and stay up to date with the latest news
Everyone knows that stock investments require a lot of time and careful attention, while brokers must keep an eye on price fluctuations at all times, wherever they are. Thus, it is crucial for them to use an application to monitor quotes and stay up to date with the latest news on finance and the money world in general. Google Finance is one of the tools for that.

Easy-to-use GUI that misses some customization features

Google Finance does the job with an intuitive user-interface that displays all the basic data you need in order to track shares and market fluctuations. But the UI is missing some features that could prove helpful to many users.

The design doesn't come with additional themes or styles and you can't even adjust the time interval in which quotes are refreshed. In addition, the app doesn't provide you with the option of adding notifications and alerts for when prices fall below a certain value.

Missing information on company stock

When it comes to information on companies, it seems that Google Finance still faces issues. The app fails to provide various useful rates, like yields, market cap or even EPS values (earnings-per-share), values which could prove essential for many brokers and investors.

Graphs with stock evolution during extended periods of time are available, but they can't be zoomed in and are poorly adjusted to the phone's screen. Other than that, the app does provide the latest news and reports on company evolution and stakeholders. There's also a section with global news, articles related to finance from the top journals and news agencies out there.

Some quotes may be delayed

As opposed to other such apps, Google Finance actually informs the user that some quotes and stock prices may be delayed and values don't represent current actual rates. It's a good thing, considering that such apps depend highly on internet connection and users should always double-check rates before trading large volumes of stock.
