If you've ever surfed the internet and found interesting content or songs, then you know how frustrating it is to want to save files to your phone and not be allowed to do so. FrostWire is a neat file downloader that lets you search and save various files to your phone and watch them later whether or not you have an internet connection.

Intuitive interface with plenty of features

While the layout of the app isn't spectacular at all, it does add points to its functionality. No instructions are provided for new users to get accustomed to the app faster. Still, the GUI is intuitive with a side menu on the left containing all available sections and settings for the app.

While the UI can't be customized, there are some networking changes that you can do. The app lets you choose whether you'd like to share torrents using 3G/4G networks, set simultaneous uploads or enable Wi-Fi sharing or files with peers.

Download files easily

Search files easily by simply typing in the name of a file or its URL and choose from the search suggestions provided below. You can download files from SoundCloud and other major platforms, including YouTube. To make it easier, tap on the download icon near the search result.

You can search for videos, photos, text and songs in various formats, including mp3 and m4a. The size of the file is listed next to the format and all torrents are added in the download manager page. Share files easily via WiFi, provided that the devices are connected to the same network.

Enjoy your files directly from within the app

Once you've finished downloading, you may tap on the video or audio file to play. There are some basic controls found in all music players, including for lock screen. Play, pause and skip songs that belong to the same torrent and playlist, regardless if you have internet connection or not.

The app comes with a section containing all files stored on your device, grouped into categories to make it easier to find. However, there are some liability issues. It's a known fact that only certain files can be downloaded off YouTube and similar platforms, so the app makes users agree to take liability for all downloaded files.
