Fractions & Smart Pirates Free 1.2
It's more of a demo version of a game app that teaches children how to solve puzzles with fractions. It uses entertaining and fun techniques so to make sure they understand how fractions work. But the app may seem a bit simplistic as it lacks additional features.
Colorful interface with plenty of animation
Surely, one thing that keeps children entertained is animation and visual effects. This app understood that and it provides kids with everything they need in order to learn fractions in a fun way. Still, it doesn't have a tutorial but comes with four nice games that children can play.
It also lacks a settings menu, meaning there are no changes that could be done to the interface and the app doesn't require online registration which also means that you can't track the progress of multiple users playing on the same device.
Teach your child fractions
The app is a great way to teach your child about fractions and how they work, but it's better if you explain the concepts beforehand and then use the app to verify if the information went through.
Fractions & Smart Pirates app could have used a section to explain the concept of fractions and to help children better understand operations before they can actually start using them. Each game comes with instructions at the beginning but some users would have also needed a short tutorial to get started.
Play all sort of games to learn fractions
There are four games that you can play, simple fractions, equivalent, addition and comparing. Each one of them comes with different levels of difficulty, easy, medium and hard. But you can only have three tries in the app per day, if you wish to play more you'll need to upgrade to the paid version for 1.19$.
The app doesn't display your score and it also doesn't let you record a progress or anything like that. In addition, although the interface is quite entertaining and suitable for children of different ages the music might get quite annoying as it's the same beat that repeats inside the menu and all games for that matter. There's no option of changing that neither.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is nice, with pretty colors and plenty of animation although the music may get annoying and there's no chance of changing it. |
Function7
The app works just fine although it seems that the hard level doesn't work properly on some devices. |
Security9
It only needs access to certain areas of your phone so it shouldn't really pose any privacy issues whatsoever. |
Battery7
Consumption is moderate so you shouldn't really worry about the app draining your resources. |
Price7
It doesn't have ads but the free version only lets you play three games per category or pay 1.19$ to unlock all of them. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 2.3 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It's a nice app but comes with lots of in-app purchases and few actual games.
