Cardiograph
Sleek but simplistic UI
The app doesn't need instructions of use, you'll get the hang of it in a matter of seconds. The interface is pretty sleek, displaying all tools on the top of the screen together with banner ads at the bottom. There are settings under the 'hamburger' icon and the option to send an email to developers stating your regards towards the app. Other apps are advertised, you can open the link and download them instantly and for free.
Monitor your heart rates with this app
In order to calculate your heart rate, simply place your finger on the back camera of your phone and tap on the start icon. The app uses your device's sensors to detect the heart rate and displays information in the rhythm and beats per minute. There's the option of enabling sounds that resemble actual cardiographs or switch read camera to front. Also, the app autostops when a reading is completed.
Create as many profiles as you wish
The app features great animation to make it easier to visualize your pulse. Each reading is recorded under your profile and you can add an activity icon for an estimate of your heart rate when resting, warming up, doing cardio exercises or other tiresome activities.
You can save as many profiles as you wish, but can't add notes or comments to entries. Still the app displays a whole history of your readings and you can share the app on social networks. You can't set a password to your profile, to protect data.
In addition, it doesn't provide thresholds of heart rates, to inform users if their pulse is too high and might need to see a doctor. Users shouldn't rely too much on these readings, since the app can't replace actual cardiographs.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is really sleek and well structured. The app comes with animation but no instructions of use. |
Function8
It does a pretty good job at reading your heart rate, but it needs more information on normal rates and more features for users to enjoy. |
Security7
It needs access to many areas of your phone, but they are mainly connected to its functionality. |
Battery6
It has the potential of overheating your phone and needs some more work to reduce battery consumption. |
Price8
Banner ads and no option of removing them. |
Compatibility8
The developer didn't mention Android versions compatible with this device, but it works on Android Wear. |
A neat app for calculating your heart rate, but it's not very accurate.
