Brain Training 1.21
Dated interface that could really use an upgrade
The app's UI seems a bit dated with only some features at hand. It doesn't launch with a tutorial or any kind of instructions to show new users how the app actually works and the ways in which it can improve your skills.
Still, each game has instructions as to make sure users understood requirements before they started playing. You don't need to register with an account and there's no initial test that you can take so that the app would assess your skills. This also means that it doesn't provide users with personalized training programs based on their skills.
Start training your brain
The app lacks a settings menu meaning you can only access games and other sections, without having the option to make any changes to the UI. The app only comes with one single game that you can play, as opposed to other brain train apps that incorporate multiple games.
It only helps improve short-term memory and not attention, math or language skills. It's a game with balls and you can pick the difficulty in the beginning, but don't expect the game to be spectacular. It doesn't come with sound and it has banner ads on the bottom. In addition, image quality isn't that great and pictures don't fit the screen.
Check results
Other applications let you compare results with users in your age group or profession, but Brain Training doesn't. It solely shows you a list of results and lets you check your progress, but you really have no idea as to how much more training you still need.
It has some achievements that you could unlock, but that's no guarantee that it would make the game more interesting. It shows you a chart with your progress, but the only way that you can stay entertained is by increasing the game's difficulty.
All in all, the game is entertaining and it may actually help improve your memory but other similar apps help you do more, as they provide you with new games and challenges each day to keep you motivated to continue training.
