Billboard Photo Frames 1.3.1

Boring app filled with many flaws and features that just don't work
Photography applications must be some of the most popular apps out there and they come with different features, some useful and some just interesting at most. Billboard Photo Frames is one of those apps that seems interesting at first, but then just proves to be annoying and without delivering the promised tools.

Dated UI, unsuitable for a photography app

When you think about photography apps, you'd expect a stylish interface that makes it easy to navigate through settings and features, combined with instructions so that you could get used to the app faster.

Billboard Photo Frames app has none of that. There are no tips on using the application and the interface is dull at best with just a few settings, but plenty of full screen and banner ads. Still, all pictures are saved in .jpg format and may be shared on social networking sites.

Take a picture and frame it but don't try to load images from the gallery

The app comes with the option of selecting a photo from the phone's gallery, however it doesn't load it and even after you select a frame and press the save button, the app takes you back to the home screen.

The only way of using this app is for pictures taken instantly. There's a large list of billboard frames that you can choose from, but keep in mind that they don't come in HD and some just spell poor quality and taste.

Some shortcomings

The app is also bad at arranging photos into frames. The size cannot be adjusted to that it fits the frames, thus leaving gray and empty borders. Images can be rotated but not tilted and they won't properly fill most frames.

But still, if you manage to fit a photo, you can apply some effects to the image, including grayscale, sepia or color effect, but they won't make that big of a difference.
