Wikipedia comes with its very own app, but there are some Android applications that could make the reading experience even more pleasant. One of such apps is Wiki Encyclopedia Gold, which comes with multiple features and offline access, but only for premium users.
Easy-to-use and intuitive interface
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions to show new users how to navigate inside and access all features. A side menu lets you access all sections including settings.
The interface is quite intuitive, but it doesn't have any customization features not even a night mode to make it easier to read articles when the lights are dim. Still, Wiki Encyclopedia Gold lets you pick your favorite reading language from the multiple provided inside the app. Text size can also be changed, pick from one of the many featured in the app.
Read all sort of Wikipedia entries
Wiki Encyclopedia Gold displays all sort of articles from Wikipedia, offering users even the option to edit them and contribute to the network with interesting facts. But in order to do so, users must be logged in their Wikipedia accounts.
A search bar at the top of the screen lets you find everything you need and you can even change the reading language from the toolbar. You can zoom in or out on text and the app has a side menu on the right for sharing entries, reading the article of the day, saving entries in your reading list or navigating through random articles.
Download content for offline use
The app lets you check out the Wiktionary section separately. It's filled with explanations for all sort of words, together with the etymology and phrases in which they're used. It offers access to Wikitravel, the travel guide by Wikipedia with all sort of interesting and useful information when you're planning a trip or already visiting a foreign country or city.
You can also have the app provide you with entries related to your location. You can read individual entries even if you're offline, but if you wish to download multiple articles to your phone, you'll have to pay up to 29.59$ depending on the language and text size. You can download and try three other applications to get access to a limited number of offline articles.
