DataSize Explorer 1.0.8
Minimalistic interface with some features
The app doesn't come with a tutorial, but the UI is quite minimalistic, so you really wouldn't need one. Still, it would have been nice if it launched with some slides providing users with a short presentation. A user guide is available inside the app, it explains how you can use the application to explore files on your device and to access all sort of features.
It has a settings menu, but the home page seems a bit crammed, the icons are dark gray and quite small. Gray isn't a good color for displaying icons since it sometimes means that the icons aren't available in the free version of the app.
Find and manage files on your phone
The app doesn't take long to scan your device, but that also depends on how many apps you've got installed on your phone. Even during the scanning process, the app starts populating the screen with a map of your device, displaying directories and the apps that take up the most space.
It displays the amount of free and busy space, together with the biggest applications and files on your device. Long press on one app to open options, you can check out information on the app like the amount of space it occupies and the size of cache data.
More features
You can also delete directories and folders or view app info. The app comes with some extra settings that you can make to the interface, you can have it display available space of storage, set the displayed block size and type or have the app use right/left swipe gesture for zooming in/out instead of up/down.
The app is available in landscape and portrait modes, it's better if you tilt your phone so you can see the chart properly. Other than that it doesn't really come with many more features, you can't move files from one folder to another or copy and paste them to another directory.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The interface is nice, but it could use an upgrade especially in the home screen, together with the option of changing the colors inside the chart. |
Function7
It works just fine, but the app could use some extra features like the option to manage files. |
Security9
It only needs a few permissions from your phone, so you shouldn't worry about the app draining your resources. |
Battery3
Consumption is really high, so keep your phone plugged in when using this app. |
Price8
It comes with banner ads that can't be removed with an upgrade. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 2.3.3 or later, making the app available to many users. |
It's a cute application, but it needs more features.
