One of the most appreciated forms of communication, voice messaging is now open to Windows Phone users through Voxer, a cool utility that can turn your handset into a walkie talkie with extraordinary capabilities.
Uncomplicated and practical interface
This application offers a cool look where the neatly designed graphics are integrated in a neat layout, made to be functional and easy to work with. Moving around the numerous sections and menus of Voxer is done fluently and without any delays.
The display is very responsive and the updates are shown promptly inside the chat screen, while the toast notifications will keep you posted about the arrival of new messages.
Push-to-talk and type messages in the same chat session
The utility is made mainly for exchanging voice messages and by keeping pressed the big button form the main menu at the bottom of the screen while inside the chat screen, everything you speak will be heard on the other end by your conversation partner(s).
This "Hold and talk" feature has to be turned on from the conversation menu that is accessible from the upper side pf the screen, next to the name of the person you are chatting with. In case you feel like writing a message, this can be easily done as well, as soon as you tap the dedicated button in the lower right side of the screen.
Group chat with photo sharing
Voxer will make it possible for you to get in touch with any of your friends who are using the same cross-platform app either by sending them an invitation or by searching them in the Voxer network with the built-in query function.
Once you start a chat, you can add several participants, so everyone can talk or text to everyone and also send pictures that will appear in the main chat.
The great thing about the voice messages sent out with this app is that they can be listened over and over again, created and sent while the other user is not connected because the audio is recorded and available at any moment once it has been sent out.
If the utility can make use of any network you are connected with to exchange data, be it a wireless or cellular one, the quality of the audio is not quite top-notch and you will have to speak pretty loudly for the recipient to better understand your message without having to turn the volume way up.
