Vocal Camera is an application designed for Windows Phone users that begs to differ, as it will help you make your phone camera obey your voice instead.
Plain and uncomplicated interface
The appearance of this tool is quite simple and it is based on the camera live view and has the commands and functions on the left, respectively the upper side of the screen. Only the zooming slider is displayed on the right side of the screen and there is no button for taking a snapshot.
The navigation among the voice commands and sensitivity settings is at hand, but getting that panel closed can be a more difficult job because the assigned button is less responsive at times. The advertisements are also present and pop-up when least expected.
The drop-down menus containing the features that can be manually selected as well as the zoom slider that is always shown in the right side may get in the way when taking a picture.
Customizable vocal commands and extra configurations
With three levels of sensitivity for the voice recognitions, Vocal Camera works well indoors and outdoors as well and if you have a set of headphones with a mic at your disposal, the accuracy of the commands increases. The snapshots are saved automatically in the "Photos" folder, under "Camera Roll".
You can assign new vocal commands in any language recognized by the app and if you prefer the manual controls for zooming in and out, flash, camera selection, scene mode and on-screen grid activation.
The "Auto" mode should yield good results in all conditions, but for those who want to do things by the book, there is a dedicated night mode, one for action pictures, called "Sport", as well as a macro setting and a backlit mode for taking photographs of subjects with bright lights behind them.
