Universal Currency Converter aims to provide Windows Phone users a really easy to use way of making the transition from one monetary system into another for any sum of money.
Simple front-end, with all the functions in plain sight
This application brings a fair looking GUI that features a cool background but some less inspired graphics inside the main screen. The currency selection fields and the one where the amount to be converted is inserted are not in harmony with the rest of the interface.
A positive aspect is related to the speed with which you can move through the long list of currencies when looking for the symbols to add to the conversion job.
On the downside, a jumplist navigation feature is missing here, which means you will have to browse the database manually each time you are looking for a specific symbol.
Simple conversion for the currencies in circulation
Universal Currency Converter is not the fastest tool when it comes to performing the actual transformation, as it takes a few moments to complete the job.
On the same note, the way in which you have to add the numbers is not so commodious, as you have to carefully place the cursor at the end of the input field and erase the existing figures, then type the new values and press "Convert" to get the results.
A noticeable drawback that you might come across fairly quickly is the fact that some currencies are obsolete, either retired from circulation or replaced, so the conversions cannot be completed as the exchange rates are not available anymore.
