SySpec 1.0.0.0

Obtain some system details from a specialized application for your Windows Phone handset
Accessing the details about certain hardware components or examining the current status of the mobile device are best done with a bit of help from some specialized tools, especially if the system does not provide this kind of info by default.

For those who are looking for one such utility, SySpec might be a viable alternative, as it is very easy to work with and it manages to provide in virtually no time some useful details about the device it runs on.

Basic GUI, with a clear appearance

The utility is meant to provide facts and figures and is less if at all preoccupied with the visual aspect, so the front-end is less polished and completely lacking visually appealing elements of graphical design.

Navigating among the various sections of the utility has a smooth feel to it and there are no lags or other similar glitches. The information is well structured and presented in a clean and easy to understand manner.

Browse through the system information screens on the go

SySpec doesn't need you to run any scans, as it is able to acquire all the information on its own. The hardware, memory and other system details each have their separate modules, where you can view the details.

Insofar as the handset's general info is concerned, you will be able to see the manufacturer and device names, along with the firmware and hardware versions.

However, if for the memory data there is a bit of info for you to check out, the "Hardware" section is disappointing as it preoccupied only with the presence of a keyboard and will tell you which power source is currently in use.

Extra info at a glance

Despite the fact that Windows Phone 8 and above are no longer using the Windows CE architecture, the utility still identifies the operating system as such and labels it WinCE, but manages to retrieve and display the correct version information.

Inside the other sections of this application you can view the CLR (Common Language Runtime) runtime details, the device unique ID, as well as the Windows Live anonymous ID.

None of the above mentioned information can be copied and use din other apps or documents, nor is it possible to transfer or share it, as some of the other similar utilities will let you do.

Bottom Line
Design / UI4

The looks of this application are not too impressive, but the decent graphics and structuring of the content help it keep a few points here.

Function3

The utility provides an insufficient amount of information about the handheld device and lacks many of the features found in most similar tools.

Security10

Since the app is supposed to offer all the details about the device, it accesses many sensitive areas of the system.

Battery6

The battery usage is rather high for SySpec, as its power consumption goes well beyond moderate levels.

Price10

As it offers all the features completely free of costs and annoyances and has plenty of info to disclose, the application has excellent value.

Compatibility10

The vast majority of Windows Phone users can have this utility up and running on any device that is powered by version 7.5 or higher of the OS.
