Simplistic and efficient GUI
The application has a decent look, with an interface focused on practical use and lacking any adornments that would make it visually appealing. The data is displayed in a clear and easy to read manner, with color highlights for the more relevant figures.
Going through the menus and different areas of the app is done seamlessly, without lags or other types of glitches. There is, however, a most annoying presence you will feel in almost all the sections of Stock Tiles and it is represented by some advertisement banners that are constantly changing in the lower side of the screen.
Add stock symbols and manage them on the go
This utility uses the information provided by Yahoo Finance and, thus, the ticker symbols, you will need to add are also in the format used by this online service.
In case you don't know the symbols of the companies you want to watch over, simply head on to the online website, where you will be able to find them after a quick query using the online search that is at your disposal.
There are two separate modules inside Stock Tiles and they contain the pinned and respectively the unpinned stock symbols that you added to the app's database. From those areas you can pin items to the Start screen or remove them and also erase the unnecessary symbols from the application.
Tile customization settings at a glance
A neat feature of this app is the tile color support, so you can choose to modify the default option that has the symbols shown with a background that matches the phone's accent color.
After this modification is selected, you will see the tiles colored in red or green, depending on the evolution of the stock value. Also, for the live tiles you can have the price change expressed in percents on the front and with the value on the back.
