Stylish and highly informative GUI
This app comes with a pretty nice appearance that features some carefully drawn elements of graphical design, which in turn give it a professional look and feel from end to end. The display is very responsive and the impressive amount of data presented by the app, with graphs and animations included is clearly visible.
A noticeable drawback from the visual point of view is the presence of the advertisement banners that are continuously changing and in order to have them removed permanently a purchase is needed. Some occasional prompts to rate and review the app also appear after one or two launches.
Complete tests in one go
To get this application started on its way you only have to tap a single button and the assessments will be initiated. The tests are done automatically and no further interaction is required nor advised until SpeedChecker finishes its job.
The only configuration that is available for you is the selection of a different server for the tests than the default one, but this feature remains locked until you purchase the full version of the application.
The actual test takes a very short while to complete, with the data shown in real time inside the main screen, thanks to the classical gauge that is shown in the center of the main screen.
Detailed results at a glance
All the information regarding the upload and download speed values, as well as the ping time are logged and can be viewed in full from the "Results" area, where several sections are ready to offer numbers and charts to help you make a good idea about the network speed.
The audio and video file download test results, the global transfer rates and the corresponding charts are all easy to reach and read, while the useful statistics offer lots of details about WiFi and cellular networks characteristics.
