This is the case of ScoreTally, a Windows Phone utility that is made to provide a simple method of counting the points scored by each player in games with up to 4 participants, be them individuals or teams.
Plain interface, with an uncomplicated design
The application is all about practicality, as you will notice as soon as you run it for the first time, so the looks are less appealing and leaning exclusively on functionality. All the controls are conveniently placed in such a manner that you can access and use the commands with minimal efforts.
The players or teams are differentiated by colors and the digits that stand for the score of each participant are easy to read, thanks to their generous dimensions and placement in the middle of the screen.
Add or subtract points with one tap
The first step when starting ScoreTally is to pick the number of players, which can be 2, 3 or 4 and then the scoreboard area will become available for you to use. The functional buttons are all placed towards the lower side of the screen and arranged each under the color they represent.
Due to the large size of the numbers, the scores are not aligned one next to each other, except for the 2 player mode and appear either arranged in a triangle or a square shape for 3 respectively 4 participants.
Reset and resume scoring on the go
This utility make sit possible for you to immediately erase all the stats for the currently selected game with a single tap. More precisely, you have at your disposal right at the bottom of the screen a "Reset" button that clears the stats instantly.
A neat feature of ScoreTally is the ability to remember the scores if the game is interrupted and the app closed, so you can pick up where you left off just by selecting again the number of players.
