This utility comes with a really simple look, that is focused on ease of use and practicality, so the main screen only holds two buttons. The graphics are decent and while the recording is active, the waveform that represents the recording signal shows the data in real time. Going through the various menus of the application is seamless and free of delays or other glitches.
There is, nonetheless, a hindrance that is represented by the presence of some ad banners shown in the lower side of the screen. A prompt to rate and review the app may also appear, but you can deactivate them easily.
With Ringtone Recorder you only have to press "Start recording" and the app will begin to capture sound using the phone's mic. For a silent ringtone, the file is generated as soon as you tap the corresponding button and you can save it on the spot.
Once the recording is complete, you can move on to the "Tools" area and work on that sample. Thus, you can reduce or increase the static amplification, an option that is best used in conjunction with the built-in 8 band audio equalizer.
To give a special touch to the ringtone, you have the possibility to add an echo that ranges from "Room" to "Canyon" setting. The reverberation level is also adjustable with the help of a simple slider and you can listen to the effect by tapping the "Play" button in the upper part of the screen.
This app keeps the last recorded bit of audio in a special area, so you can use it for other purposes, like sending it via email or saving it locally, to your Music folder.
In case you want to set a specific limit for the duration of the captured sounds, you need to look inside the "Settings" area where this feature is made available for you.
The simple and clean look of this application is pretty much decent, with some neat graphics, but also plagued by continuously changing ads.
As a basic tool for capturing sound, customizing it a bit and then saving the ringtone on the phone, this application succeeds, but it cannot keep more than one recording inside its local storage.
This app is a bit nosy as it requires access to the phone dialer as well as to the owner and phone identities for no good reason.
Ringtone Recorder takes up quite a bit of power ti function, so the battery usage remains at high and very high levels most of the time.
The application offers a fair set of features free of cost, but it still has some shortcomings that make it lose a couple of points here.
The majority of Windows Phone users can enjoy having this app onto their mobiles as it only needs version 7.5 of the operating system to function properly.
