While on vacation or just looking through the window at home, you can now make panoramas with just your Windows Phone handset and a handy application that goes by the name of Photosynth.
Practical use is at the core of the design
Through the intuitive layout provided by this app, you will be able to access with just a few taps all the features it has to offer. The appearance of this utility focuses on practicality and visual appeal is left aside almost completely.
The live view enables you to choose the best position for the initial snapshot, while the fluent navigation among features pics and inside the panoramic image you create are some of the most important assets of this app.
Capture photos and stitch them together on the fly
Operating Photosynth is an easy job, mostly point and shoot, because once you tap to start the image capture process, all you have to do is adjust the handset so as to match the virtual frame shown on screen.
The application takes all the pictures automatically, as soon as it detects the correct alignment, so all you have to do is remain inside the green area and when you're done, tap a button to have the images stitched together.
The program seems to work better outdoors than inside buildings, but there are some glitches that are common to any location. More precisely, when capturing areas containing a lot of movement, some parts of the scene may overlap or appear sliced in the final picture.

Nonetheless, the lack of advanced features for configuring the stitching process or giving users the possibility to manually frame and take snapshots make it lose some points. |

The app requires access to phone and owner identity, peeks into contacts, phone dialer, appointments, Xbox and multimedia libraries, not to mention the fact that upon installation it activates the location services and informs users that will keep the location information and sent it to the developer. |

Photosynth has a tendency to drain the battery as the power consumption is most of the time thorough the roof, be it in the live preview mode or while viewing panoramas made by the user or other people. |
