In order to be able to carry out these tasks, the hardware device itself is not sufficient and some dedicated applications have to be used as well. One of the tools that is made to serve several purposes is the suggestively named Photo Master Pro.
Smart design, with a neat look
The app has a quite nice interface, with smooth graphics and friendly color schemes for the tiles and backgrounds inside. The layout will surely seem familiar to most users, as it resembles that of many similar utilities.
All the functions and controls are kept neatly arranged and easy to reach, so it is quite easy to work with this application. The preview area is decent in size, but the navigation among the various sections and loading effects or making other modifications will have a slight, yet noticeable delay at times.
After using Photo Master Pro a couple of times, some prompts to rate the app will appear on startup, while when trying to close the utility you will prompted again, this time to try other apps.
Photo capture abilities
With this tool you can take pictures on the spot, as it is able to use the handset's cameras (front or rear). There are some flash, framing and brightness controls at hand, as well as a timer for snapping pics with a certain delay.
The snapshots made with Photo Master Pro are different from what you see through the virtual viewfinder and only a small part of the framed image is saved and made available for editing.
Another drawback visible while in this module is the immediate crash when the device is rotated to take a photo in landscape mode.
Common editing features and collage options
This application comes with a good, but rather basic set of tools, so when it comes to making changes to a selected photo you have at your disposal only a few enhancements. Thus, the crop and orientation functions are present and there is a dedicated brightness adjustment slider, while the range of effects brought by the app is reduced compared to other tools from the same category.
Insofar as the image montages are concerned, Photo Master Pro enables you to select up to 8 pictures stored onto your device and have them arranged using one of the built-in collage or poster layouts.
You can also go for the free arrangement, where you can pick the desired background, then place the photos as you please and move them inside the frame boundaries.
