Password Store 1.1.0.11
For those accustomed to rely on their Windows Phone powered mobile devices for such purposes it might be a good idea to try out some of the dedicated apps that are currently available and Password Store is one of them.
Unappealing graphics and simple GUI
The utility comes with a simple design that relies on a very practical layout, where all the information is preserved and presented in an orderly fashion. This means that the visual appeal is left aside in favor of the more functional aspects.
Browsing through the various sections and menus of the app is straightforward and without any delays or other kind of similar glitches. The functions and commands are all placed at hand, so you can create new items and edit them with minimal efforts.
Create new entries on the fly
Password Store works in a very simple manner, so you will have no problems when it comes to operating it. Adding items in its database is easy to do, as you have to do is input the entry title, then fill in the other details before confirming the fresh addition to the database.
The only mandatory fields are the account name and the password, the rest of them being optional, so you may leave out the URL and user ID details. In case you want to write down a short note that will be attached to the respective entry, this is possible as well.
Unfortunately, there are no categories or folders to store the passwords in, but the items are kept in alphabetical order for quick retrieval. More so, there is even a built-in search engine that can query the database in order to find the exact entries you are after.
Cloud backup and simple password management
Any of the passwords you add inside Password Store can be edited or removed and the last mentioned operation can be carried out in batches, using the multiple selection offered by the utility.
To make sure the entries remain safe and retrievable in case something happens with the application, there is a OneDrive backup and restore functionality you can resort to. However, if the transfer to the cloud account works fine, the restoration procedure fails for some reason.
Another drawback is represented by the fact that in the main menu shown inside the login screen there is an option that allows anyone to reset the app and erase all stored data, along with the settings, so if someone cannot get in your vault, they might destroy it altogether.
Also, should the utility be restored from the recently used apps list, it will not prompt for the access code, so this is another flaw that might expose your data.
